The Ermenrich NT70 Thickness Gauge is a precision instrument for the non-destructive thickness measurement of paint, varnish, body filler, or primer coatings on metal substrates. It helps you instantly spot signs of body repair, repainting, or corrosion. The model is a handy tool for vehicle inspectors, car enthusiasts, pre-purchase car inspection specialists, and auto body repair technicians.
The device works with ferrous metals (Fe, such as steel and cast iron) and non-ferrous metals (NFe, such as aluminum and copper). It automatically detects the substrate type. The measuring range is 0µm to 1,350µm, with a resolution as fine as 0.1µm. The minimum radius of curvature is 1.5mm for ferrous metals and 3mm for non-ferrous metals. Therefore, coatings can be measured on bends and complex-shaped body parts. Readings are shown on a 1.8-inch monochrome backlit screen, and an audible signal accompanies each measurement.
The built-in memory stores up to 1,500 measurement results. Data can be transferred to a computer via the included USB cable for further analysis in the Coating Thickness Tester software.
The device weighs only 110 grams and easily fits in a pocket. It is powered by two AAA batteries (1.5V), providing up to 10 hours of battery life.
