The Ermenrich Test DM40 is a compact and practical measuring tool for electrical and electronics work. It comes in handy for electricians, service technicians, and diagnostic specialists. Combining a voltmeter, ammeter, and ohmmeter in one device, it also features a non-contact NCV sensor that detects voltage with no physical contact. Auto-ranging simplifies measurements, and the max hold function captures the highest reading during a test.
The multimeter measures DC and AC voltage up to 600V, so it is suitable for testing batteries, power supplies, wall outlets, and sections of wiring. It also measures DC and AC current up to 200mA and resistance up to 20MΩ. This makes the meter convenient for monitoring current draw in electronic and low-power circuits as well as checking whether wires, contacts, fuses, windings, and resistors are working properly. The device detects polarity automatically, so if the test leads are connected in reverse, a minus sign appears in front of the reading.
It also features a dedicated continuity mode, in which the multimeter beeps when the resistance of the section under test drops below approximately 100Ω. This is handy for quickly locating open circuits and poor connections. Diode testing is also supported. It lets you check whether diodes are functional and measure their voltage drop.
The meter runs on a single 12V 23A battery, with a rated battery life of up to 80 hours. Auto power off saves energy when the meter is left idle, and the low battery indicator lets you know in advance when it is time to replace the battery. The 2000-count display updates readings twice per second. The ABS plastic housing with thermoplastic elastomer inserts is built to withstand everyday use.
